Cold-Pressed Chicken Recipe

Chicken is the first listed ingredient in Nextrition’s chicken formula. Other ingredients include rice, sweet potato, oats, pumpkin, carrots, apples, salmon oil, prebiotic chicory root and selected vitamins and minerals.

The manufacturer formulates the recipe for dogs at different life stages. It contains animal-derived ingredients beyond chicken, including salmon oil and skim milk powder, so it is not suitable for every elimination diet.

Cold-Pressed Beef Recipe

The beef formula features beef as its first ingredient, followed by grains including sorghum, oats and millet, along with sweet potato, beef liver, vegetables and additional nutrients.

Beef liver contributes naturally occurring nutrients, while added vitamins and minerals help complete the formulation. The recipe also contains eggs, salmon oil and milk powder.

Cold-Pressed Lamb Recipe

Nextrition’s lamb recipe includes lamb, barley, lamb meal, millet, sweet potato, eggs and vegetable ingredients.

It offers a different primary meat source from the chicken and beef recipes. However, it is not a strict single-animal-protein elimination diet because it also contains ingredients derived from other animals.

Cold-Pressed Salmon Recipe

The salmon formula begins with salmon and also contains millet, sweet potato, barley, salmon meal, salmon oil and New Zealand green mussels.

Fish naturally provides omega-3 fatty acids. The complete formulation also includes additional grains, vegetables, probiotics, vitamins and minerals. Customers should verify the full ingredient list if their dog has fish, shellfish or other food sensitivities.

Prebiotics, probiotics and postbiotics

Nextrition includes ingredients associated with digestive support, including dried chicory root, selected probiotic fermentation ingredients and yeast culture.

Prebiotics are food components that can support certain beneficial microorganisms. Probiotics are specific microorganisms used in appropriate amounts, while postbiotics refer to preparations of inanimate microorganisms or their components that may provide a health benefit when properly studied.

Complete and balanced nutrition

Nextrition states that its four main recipes are formulated to meet the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages, including growth of large-breed puppies.

AAFCO establishes nutritional standards but does not approve or individually certify pet food brands. Consumers should check the nutritional adequacy statement on the current package.

The company also reports routine batch testing for relevant food-safety organisms and nutritional specifications. These are manufacturer-reported quality-control practices, not an independent guarantee that a product can never be contaminated.

How to transition your dog to a new food
