Description
Compact dishwashing for small kitchens
HAVA’s R01 and R09 countertop dishwashers bring a practical household convenience to apartments, compact kitchens, tiny homes and other spaces without room for a full-size built-in machine. Both models use a five-liter internal water tank, so you can fill them with the supplied pitcher rather than permanently connecting the appliance to plumbing. They can also accept water through an inlet hose. A drain hose still needs to empty safely into an appropriate sink or container.
These are small-load dishwashers, not miniature copies of full-size family appliances. Before buying, think about how many dishes you use each day, whether your largest plates and pans will fit, and how much countertop room you can spare.
HAVA R01: the simpler five-program dishwasher
The R01 is the original compact model, with two place settings and five wash modes: Normal, Speed, Soft, Baby Care/Heavy and Fruit. It has upper and lower spray arms, heated washing and a separate drying mode, along with hot-air drying after eligible cycles. HAVA describes its capacity as suitable for roughly one or two people’s everyday dishes, though the exact number of items depends on their shapes and sizes.
At approximately 16.9 inches wide, 16.9 inches deep and 18.1 inches tall, the R01 can fit spaces that do not accommodate conventional dishwashers. Leave sufficient space to open the door, reach the controls and use the drain and water connections. HAVA lists the U.S. model for 110–120-volt power and a 950-watt rating.
HAVA R09: more room and additional controls
The R09 builds on the same compact footprint with three place settings, seven wash cycles, a revised dish rack, a built-in water softener and an 18-hour delay-start option. It also adds a child-lock function. Those upgrades may appeal to households that regularly use larger dish loads or experience hard-water buildup.
Like the R01, the R09 uses a five-liter water tank, offers an inlet-hose water connection and includes drying and ventilation functions. The integrated water softener is a meaningful distinction, but it does not remove the need to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for dishwasher salt and water-hardness settings.
R01 or R09: which is the better fit?
Choose the R01 if you primarily need to wash modest daily loads, prefer fewer controls and do not require a built-in water softener. Its two-place-setting capacity and five wash programs can be sufficient for one or two users who wash regularly.
Consider the R09 if you would benefit from an extra place setting, additional cycle choices, a water softener, delayed starting or a child lock. The exterior dimensions are similar, so the comparison is more about capacity and features than counter space.
Neither should be assumed to hold large skillets, baking sheets or every oversized dinner plate. Check HAVA’s measured plate limits and your own dishes before ordering. Plate orientation and rack loading affect usable capacity.
Water supply, drainage and real-world setup
Both models offer two water supply choices. You can pour water into the built-in tank with the supplied pitcher or connect the water inlet hose to a suitable faucet. Even without a permanent faucet connection, the machines still need a secure drain outlet. Check the drain height, hose positioning, countertop stability and electrical requirements in the user manual. A level, suitable working surface and protected electrical connection are important around water.
The five-liter tank refers to water supplied for a washing cycle. HAVA advertises water-saving advantages compared with handwashing, but actual household savings depend on how dishes are washed, how full the machine is and whether multiple cycles are needed.
Wash programs, heat and drying
The R01 includes five wash options and the R09 offers seven, with cycles designed for everyday dishes, shorter loads and particular cleaning needs. Some cycles use hot rinsing and hot-air drying. These settings are useful conveniences, but do not assume that every item marked dishwasher-safe can tolerate every high-temperature program. Follow both the manufacturer’s manual and each dishware or bottle maker’s care guidance.
HAVA includes ventilation features intended to reduce moisture after washing. Cleaning the filters, checking the spray arms and managing hard-water deposits remain part of ordinary maintenance.
Materials and our Blue Sky clean standard
We classify HAVA Yellow — Cleaner Step Up for its small-space utility and potentially efficient water use. HAVA identifies ABS plastic among its casing materials, and the machines contain conventional electrical, plastic and metal components. We have not independently verified comprehensive third-party chemical or low-emissions certifications for the finished dishwashers. This catalog rating is not a claim that the machines are organic, plastic-free, completely non-toxic or independently proven to have a lower environmental impact in every household.
Important: where HAVA ships
HAVA currently ships directly only to the 48 contiguous United States. Its U.S. shipping policy expressly excludes Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, other U.S. territories, PO boxes and APO/FPO/DPO addresses. Do not order expecting direct delivery to an excluded destination. Check the live shipping policy before completing any purchase, as coverage and warehouse arrangements can change.
Returns, warranty and customer support
HAVA’s policy describes a 30-day window for returns of new, unused products, but it requires initiating an eligible return request within 14 days of receiving the order. Non-defective returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee plus applicable shipping and related costs. Orders canceled before shipping may incur a processing fee. Review the complete current return and cancellation terms rather than treating a 30-day headline as a free trial.
HAVA advertises a 12-month limited warranty for eligible original purchases, along with technical support. Its warranty policy states that return shipping to a repair center may be charged if the return occurs more than six months after delivery. Keep your order documentation and report any damage promptly under the company’s stated procedures.
Choosing a countertop dishwasher with confidence
Before purchasing, measure the intended location with the door fully open, check your largest plate diameter, plan for drainage and confirm the correct regional voltage. If the R01’s simpler feature set is enough, it may be the more straightforward choice; the R09 adds useful controls for people who want more flexibility. Product prices and promotions change, so we do not display a fixed price.
